Welcome to Dot Courson Fine Art!

I'm a full-time artist and workshop teacher from Mississippi, and I paint, teach, and host art workshops professionally. I paint in oils primarily- and I'm probably best known for my large landscapes. I show and sell my work in galleries: Southern Breeze Gallery in Ridgeland, - near Jackson and in Caron Gallery in Tupelo, MS. I'm also frequently in shows all over the country.

I'm a Signature Member of the Women Painters of the Southeast, and active in other organizations such as the American Impressionists Society, Oil Painters of America, and Mississippi Painters Society.

I'm so blessed to be able to do paint - and I know it! I enjoy painting beautiful American landscapes, especially landscapes of the south. I also do other types of painting: portraits, figures, still life and especially plein air works. Plein air paintings are done outside on location- out in the open air! They're fun to do - and fun to look at: my more impressionistic works!
