Welcome to Dot Courson Fine Art!

I'm a full-time artist from Mississippi, and I paint and teach art workshops professionally. I paint in oils primarily- and I'm probably best known for my large rural south landscapes. I show and sell my work in my new STUDIO and also in several galleries. My art is on exhibit in the Arts and Entertainment Experience (The MAX) in Meridian, MS as a "legend" in the VISUAL ARTS of MISSISSIPPI. I'm also frequently in shows all over the country.

In 2018 I was extremely honored to be named a Finalist for the 13th International ARC Salon Competition- my first year to enter!

I'm a Member of the Oil Painters of America, and Mississippi Painters Society.

I'm so blessed to be able to do paint - and I know it! I enjoy painting beautiful American landscapes, especially rural landscapes of the south. I also do other types of painting: portraits, figures, still life and especially plein air works. Plein air paintings are done outside on location- out in the open air! They're fun to do - and fun to look at: my more impressionistic works!
