Thank you for inviting me to Laurel and to the Lauren Roger’s Museum of Art as a speaker for your Art Talk program at the museum...and for hosting my oil painting workshop!
Very inspirational and insightful talk, Dot. I like where you said you want to be "shrewd observer and a plain and direct writer." And I'm sure you know by now the degree means nothing. I didn't learn to paint a stroke at university. Luckily the man I studied under at the community college was not afraid to teach us to paint. Sometimes, I feel I wasted a lot of time at university, but I did learn a lot about the history of art. Getting my degree also meant I actually finished something!
