October: So far, this has been a busy month!... My solo show in Corinth ended on Sunday. The group art show at Northeast MS Community College closes on Friday.
Tonight, I am in Laurel, MS- am to be the featured speaker at Art Talk, a monthly lecture series the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art tomorrow. What an honor! The museum invites artists from all over the US to comet here during the fall and winter months to speak to the patrons and public.
I have also been invited to teach an oil painting workshop: Painting from Photographs, hosted by the museum. Looking forward to both these things as there is nothing that I like more than "talking art"...and painting!
Next week I am in a small exhibit with the Mississippi Painter's Society at the Link Center in Tupelo.
Am also in a special art exhibition hosted by Staggs Interiors of Tupelo that will be in Oxford, MS.
On Thrusday- Sunday, October 22-Roger Dale Brown will be coming to teach a workshop that my husband and I host biannually in Pontotoc, MS. The workshop is full. Roger is a great painter! We have art students from 3 states coming to study with him.

Solo show in Corinth, Ms.
The show reception was Sunday, September 13, 2009.
Works will remain at the Corinth Artist Guild Gallery at 502 Cruise Street until mid November.
My solo show in the Corinth Artist Guild Gallery was a success. It opened on September 13 and was so much fun. I enjoyed seeing artists, some of my students, family and friends and collectors as well. Above is a photo of one of my paintings called Delta Cotton II, that sold to a collector from Nashville who is a terrific person to drive down to my show!
Earlier in September I completed a large 4 x 6 ft diptych commission of the Natchez Trace for a new bank in Jackson, MS.
Workshops:
My next oil painting Landscape Workshop at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel October 12-15, 2009.
I was also invited to do Art Talk - a brown bag luncheon program open to the public at noon in the museum.

Southern Art Show
Busy! The Southern Breeze Show is this week. The paintings I have posted before today have already SOLD! Great, but a lot of pressure to make more art and want my show to be good. Adding some more paintings that will be in the show. One am still working on (left) called Delta from the Hills is 48" x 60". Still working on it, not sure it will be ready for the show.... The above paintings are in the show and pretty new.
John Pototschnik will be here a week from today for the workshop. I just found him on the Art Renewal Center website... as a finalist last year! He always gets into the Oil Painter's of America national shows, but this is an amazing accomplishment and literally credentials him as one of the world's best artists and places him into history with the great masters! I hope his tallent rubs off while he is here!
On that note, I humbly submit my latest works...
